Way back in May we started planning our photoshoot. We scouted for locations with the idea of using a crane to rig some straps from. We had heard about the brilliant Bunmi Odomosu through Glastonbury Festival and luckily she was able to take time off work to come from Cardiff for the day with her straps.
We had found a few OK locations but a last minute chance to use a brilliant crane on a boat in the harbour came up through a friend. Martin’s boat Bee is docked outside the Art Warehouse just down from the MShed. It has an old yellow crane on it that can motor up and down. After an early trip to TK Maxx for leggings and some initial shots with Nic Kane photographing, we went to the boat where Martin and his grand kids welcomed us and operated the crane.
The sun came out for a short while that day and we were lucky to get such stunning shots. In the final image we particularly like the seagull and the fact that the building site behind gave us another crane and a snapshot of history as there are now flats on that site. Martin is keen to use the crane for other interesting uses and events, email martinmackenzie@hotmail.com to enquire.
